Referral Terms

What referrals pay, the one thing they explicitly do not pay on, how commission moves from pending to paid, and what disqualifies it.

Updated July 2026

The most important sentence in this policy is the one about what does not earn commission, so it is near the top rather than near the bottom. Referrals pay on membership payments only. Credit top-ups never earn commission, however large.

The offer

Share your referral link. The creator you invite gets 15% off their first eligible purchase, once. You earn 10% commission on their Founder or Standard membership payments.

Both sides of that are deliberate. The person arriving gets a real reason to try it, and the person who vouched for them gets paid while they stay, not a bounty for a signature.

What earns commission

Membership payments only. Every recurring membership payment a creator you referred makes is eligible, for as long as they keep paying.

Credit top-ups never earn commission, however large. Neither does a free account, a trial, an achievement, or a purchase made before the referral existed. We would rather be plain about that up front than have you build a plan on it and discover it later.

Who can refer

Referrals are open to signed-in accounts. You do not need a membership to refer, and you do not need to have bought anything.

You cannot refer yourself, and you cannot refer an account you control. That includes a second account of your own, however it is registered.

How a referral is attributed

A referral is attributed when someone arrives through your link and creates an account. Attribution belongs to the link they actually used. It is not retroactive, so someone who already has an account cannot be attributed to you afterwards, and someone who arrived through a different creator’s link is theirs.

One referrer per referred account. There is no splitting and no second claim.

How commission vests

A commission record is created when a referred membership payment succeeds, and then moves through three states: pending, vested, and paid. You can see which state every one of yours is in rather than having to ask.

Commission on a payment that is later refunded, reversed or charged back does not vest. If it had already vested, it is reversed. Commission does not survive money going back.

What disqualifies it

Referrals have to be genuine. The following are not eligible, and commission earned this way is reversed:

  • Self-referral, or referring an account you control
  • Accounts created to claim a referral rather than to use the platform
  • Incentivised sign-ups that do not reflect real interest, such as paying someone to join under your link
  • Unsolicited bulk distribution of your link, including spam and reply-spam
  • Paid search or advertising placed against the Aiora Labs name or its marks
  • Misrepresenting the platform, its pricing, or what a membership includes in order to convert someone

Honesty in how you refer

Describe the product as it is. Do not promise capabilities that are still in development, do not invent a discount, and do not imply an endorsement or partnership you do not have.

You may say you made something with Aiora Labs and you may recommend it freely. You may not present yourself as speaking for it.

Withdrawals

Withdrawal of earned commission is governed by the payout controls in the product. Where a payout path is not yet enabled, the product says so rather than showing you a button that does nothing.

Vested commission is not lost while a payout path is being connected. It stays recorded against your account.

Tax

Commission is income. Whether you owe tax on it, and to whom, depends on where you live and your own circumstances, and it is your responsibility rather than ours.

We do not withhold, and nothing here is tax advice.

Changes

We may change referral rates for future referrals as the programme develops. Commission already vested is not affected, and we will not reduce a rate retroactively on referrals you have already made.

Material changes are published with a new date on this page rather than applied quietly.

Ending participation

We may withdraw referral access from an account that breaks these terms, and we may reverse commission earned in breach of them. Where the breach looks like a misunderstanding rather than a scheme, we will say so and explain what needs to change.

You can stop referring at any time by not sharing the link. Vested commission already earned is unaffected.
